Mark Loduca and The “C” Notes
The C Notes Quartet is a Detroit-born jazz group with deep roots and a long memory. Formed over 30 years ago by keyboardist Mark LoDuca and bassist Robert Conner, the band began as the rhythm section of the popular Millionaires Band. When that powerhouse outfit took the night off, the “smaller denomination” stepped out on its own—and the name stuck.
Specializing in swinging jazz standards delivered with a soulful, blues-inflected feel, The C Notes Quartet brings warmth, groove, and seasoned musicianship to every performance. Their sound is steeped in tradition but never dusty—always melodic, always swinging, and always aimed at connecting with the room.
A familiar presence on the Detroit jazz scene, The C Notes Quartet performs throughout the area and can be heard every Monday night at Eddie V’s in Troy, where they’ve become a favorite with regulars and newcomers alike.
The quartet features:
• Mark LoDuca – keyboards & vocals
• Robert Conner – bass
• Jerome Clark – guitar
• Julian VanSlyke – drums
Four musicians. One deep pocket. And a whole lot of swing.
