Jazz at Shield's - We gather in many places, but routinely at Shield’s of Southfield two or three times a month from 1-3:30 p.m. – normally the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month. We are proud to host the finest musicians of these genres in the Detroit, Toledo, and Ann Arbor areas. Because of COVID, we may expand the number of performances each month in the future to make up for lost concerts.
Jazz-N-Pizza - The Greater Detroit Jazz Society has started a new jazz series at the Shield’s Restaurant location in Troy, produced by Meghan Wilcox. This series happens every other Wednesday evening, 6-8:30 p.m., 1476 W. Maple Rd., Troy, 48084. $10 entertainment charge at the door, and we suggest you come early and enjoy their outstanding food – not just pizza. See our calendar for dates and bands.
Terrace Inn Jazz Weekends (BayView) - We’re also proud promoters and organizers of the Spring and Fall Terrace Inn Jazz Weekends at the Historic Terrace Inn in BayView (Petoskey), Michigan. These weekends feature the finest bands from our area for a 3-day getaway of live jazz with a full dining menu, a beautiful venue, and did we mention shopping for the jazzy gals?
Other Special Events - We also host many special events throughout the year, such as our early bird New Year’s Eve Dinner Party and summer picnics, and support many other major local events such as the Michigan Jazz Festival, and Scott Gwinnell’s Help With Jazz Workshop.
